Let Lakeland Mountain Guides lead the way into the hills and mountains of the UK during winter. Our Winter rates apply to December - April, and any other time at which snow which requires technical equipment will be encountered outside of this time (e.g Ben Nevis in early May)
Whether you're a solo walker, or have a large group we can provide a fun, safe and educational day out. All our leaders are professionally qualified, first aid trained, insured and hold a vast amount of experience in the activity they are leading.
When using our online booking system to book a day of Winter Guided Walking we highly recommend dropping us an email on lakelandmountainguides@live.co.uk to discuss through the options beforehand. Our Guided Walking page holds lots of information on popular routes we lead regularly, but we are happy to create a bespoke adventure for you or lead you on a more abstract walk we may have not listed.
Not got winter walking kit? No worries! From us you can hire winter boots, crampons and ice axes. We'll even lend you Goggles for the day.
Due to the nature of winter walking we aim to keep our group sizes small and personal. Should your group size exceed 6 please contact us direct to discuss the options.

It is very rare that we are unable to provide a leader for an event, but as I'm sure you can appreciate the winter months can provide some harsh weather conditions and we will only take a booking if we deem it safe to head out.
Winter walking is not only physically tougher, but technically too. In order for us to stay safe on our adventure you will be required to have additional technical walking equipment in the form of a Walking Axe, Walking Crampons and Winter Mountaineering Boots (Summer boots do not suffice). We have a hire pool of all these items, so if you require them please head to the shop and add the various items you require in to the basket. Please ensure you add on what size boots you require.
