Navigation training course

Today I was joined by Claire and Matt on a bespoke Navigation Training Course. The pair are regular hillwalkers but by their own admission are too over reliant on using a phone to navigate. It was time for them to shake that up and get used to the 'ol faithful - the map and compass combo! We used our Nav circuit above Elterwater and it's fair to say they walked away from the course with plenty of new skills, tricks and tips to go away and practice on their hillwalking adventures. Just some of the things we covered included navigational tactics, contour interpretation, compass bearings and relocation.
