What better do do on a Sunday morning than to hike up Helvellyn for Sunrise? Well that is exactly what 70 fundsraisers for St Mary's Hospice did today. We've had the pleasure of collaborating with the hospice on this event and this year we had two walks to the summit of England's 3 highest mountain. We had 50 people walk in via Keppel Cove, taking in the summits of Whiteside and Lower Man as we went. The other 20 took the more adventurous line and scrambled up Swirral Edge under the light of dawn to reach the summit. The atmosphere all morning was excellent and everyone put in a huge amount of effort to get to the top for 4am. Unfortunately a layer of cloud obscured an amazing sunrise but that was secondary to what was achieved. So much money has been raised for this amazing hospice in the process and of course many more memories. Well done all.
