What a day! Abraham's Tea Round ticked for myself and Ali in a very respectable 9 hours 50! This route takes in 11 fells that are seen from the cafe window at George Fisher UK and it totals about 30 miles and 3,100+m of ascent. We set out at 6am and cruised over Catbells and onto Robinson. The route now takes it first brutal descent all the way to Buttermere Lakeshore. A steep climb is then taken up High Stile which we zoomed up. We descended High Stile down a cheeky gully which cut off some distance and saved some time and before we knew it we were down in Buttermere Village where Ali's husband came to meet us. The third section of the route is pretty huge. It starts with another steep yomp up Whiteless Pike and then once established in the Coledale Fells it's a case of running about to tick them off. These included Hopegill Head, Grisedale Pike, Eel Crag, Sail, Scar Crags, Causey Pike and Rowling End. The route cuts back in and Barrow is the final challenge. This soon fell and all that was left was some 2.5 miles back to Keswick. We dug deep and kept the momentum and the sub 10 hour time was possible! As we got back to the shop Rich and LMG Geoff were there to support us and we proudly received our very own ATR patches designed by Conquer Lake District . This route is pretty challenging but an ace day out. Get involved!! Now our training runs are complete together, next month Ali will take on the full 45 mile Lakeland 3000's route! #LivefortheNow
