Ben Nevis via the CMD Arete

A super day yet again with Alison, Lindsay and Libby. Finally the day had come for their second attempt at the CMD Arete on Ben Nevis after being beaten back by poor weather last year. The day started with a boggy slog up to the summit of Carn Mor Dearg but the 3 hours of anguish were soon forgotten as we started scrambling across the arete. The arete is very similar to Striding Edge, just 5x longer! Half way across the views finally arrived and we couldn't help but snap away with our cameras - Scotland was there in all her glory for us to see. The final slog onto Ben Nevis soon ended and we reached the snow covered top after just 5 hours. On the way down the clouds parted once again and we went to peer down at the impressive (and huge) North face. Downward hiking continued and with it came the heat, and once back in the glen we were suitably knackered and hot! Well done once again ladies and thank you! #LivefortheNow #microwaveboulders
