Day 2 of Amanda's 1:1 Navigation training course today and our venue of choice was the lovely Sheffield Pike. Our focus of the day was on contour interpretation and compass work. All day Amanda showed great skills and her confidence continued to grow. She now believes she's not just 'winging it' and feels that she could rely on the map and compass to get her out of a sticky situation. Her confidence in the compass was really instilled when she perfectly executed a 600m bearing across featureless terrain to hit a spot you could only see when you're a few metres off of it - magic!
