A grand time today with Julie and Lesley as we ventured onto Helvellyn to refresh and learn some winter skills.
Our journey took us to the summit via Swirral Edge during which we looked at crampon and ice axe use. As the plateau was quite windy we opted to descend back down Swirral Edge which of course tested those skills once more. As we ate lunch the sun decides to break through and as Catstycam was looking quite alpine we decided to head up there too!
A super fun day full of giggles, falling in steep snow and glorious summits. #LivefortheNow @ Helvellyn
