Winter Skills fun - whiteout style!
A really fun day out with Kelly, Julie, Ed, Michael and John running through the basics of winter walking. We really did get a complete winter experience today as we experienced heavy snow showers and total whiteouts. This combined with the snow conditions underfoot meant that we covered loads of miles wearing crampons, talking about avalanche awareness, taking bearings into the whiteout and of course using the ice axe - including some arrest practice on a bullet hard slope - Ouch!
