A super fab day out with Sarah on Helvellyn! Sarah has already got winter walking experience but contacted us to see if we could provide some additional coaching when it came to crampon use. Although there isn't tonnes of snow remaining in the Lakes the snow we have left is bullet hard and perfect for such a day! We started the day by playing on the lower slopes of Red Tarn Cove before climbing an easy gully to the end of Striding Edge. We continued to the top of Helvellyn and then did a couple of laps of Swirral Edge to work on mixed terrain crampon use. Thanks for a fab day, Sarah!
